Good news for Mitt Romney:

Texas Rep. Ron Paul won a 2010 CPAC straw poll tonight, a victory that will further energize his already eager supporters though will have little outcome upon a coming presidential contest.

Paul, who ran for boss in 2008, took 31 percent of a vote. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney had won a past three CPAC straw polls though placed second this time with twenty-two percent. Romney is considered a current frontrunner for a 2012 nod.

No alternative candidate scored in double digits. Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who did not speak during CPAC, took third place with seven percent. (Full formula have been below.)

This is similar to a nine iron by a window of a Tim Pawlenty campaign.
