MetsBlog.com : Buzz: Red Sox Four-Year Offer to Jason Bay Stands

Peter Gammons of ESPN.com told WEEI Radio that free-agent OF Jason Bay does not wish to fool around in San Francisco, even yet a Giants have been willing to suggest him a five-year contract.

Updated during 5:23 pm:

Jon Heyman of SI.com has doubts that a Red Sox will up their suggest from 4 to five years for Bay, as they have been more focused upon pitching, as have been a Angels.

In Heymans opinion, if a Mets suggest five years they competence win.

from what i understand, having talked to people connected to a team, a) a Mets suggest to bay is probably back-loaded, as well as b) yet a current suggest doesnt have it, they have been willing to go to a fifth-year option, though i do not believe it will ever be guaranteed

Jon Paul Morosi of Fox Sports says a Red Soxoffer toBay is during 4 years as well as holding.

Morosi says it isunlikely a Sox will give Bay a five-year contract, which is what he is seeking.

Last month, Jon Heyman of SI.com said Bay rejected a four-year, $60 million deal from a Red Sox.

The Mets offering Bay a four-year, $65 million contract, Heyman reported yesterday.

so right now, as it stands, a Mets appear to be in good figure with their suggest as theirs is now a highest, nonetheless i could still see a Red Sox coming up in terms of dollars
